Chapter 1 Do We Know Our Father?
A lot of people go through life not knowing the Father. They know about the Father. However, never take time to build a personal relationship with him. They are as distant as a child who met his father once in his life time. He knows of his father but never truly discovers anything about his father.
They are so disconnected spiritually and emotionally because of the limited involvement with the Father. They never take time to study his word. They never take time to seek him in prayer. Some of his children feel like they don’t need their Father. They figure that they can make it through life on their own.
They are self-made. Everything revolves around them. They won’t even acknowledge that there is a God. Let alone that he is their Heavenly Father. If they acknowledge him, it is only to receive a request from him while in the middle of life’s turmoil.
There are others who know their Father in a natural sense. They get caught up in the stealthiest sin. They feel that their Father won’t accept them back home because he warned them of the danger. Sin blocks their thoughts. They can’t think straight. In the middle of the blockage, they don’t know how to start or maintain a personal relationship with the Heavenly Father.
A personal relationship with our Heavenly Father may seem complicated. Almost impossible to the ones who don’t know what a true relationship is. A lot of times, we don’t understand the meaning of a relationship. We think, “A good relationship is entirely about receiving gifts.” We think, “It’s all about the other people pleasing us, listening to us, and giving in to our will.”
We don’t know how to build a good relationship with our mother or brothers. I can see why that it may seem difficult to start building a personal relationship with God. I know it might seem to be out of reach. It is more in reach then our next breath. For his children, obtaining a relationship has always been in our vicinity. Through reading his word and praying, we can begin to make a connection with our Heavenly Father.
God’s word can take on a new meaning in our life. It can illuminate every dark spot in our life. God’s word reveals to us truth. It is the truth. In order to put it in its proper context, we must be led by his Holy Spirit. If we are not guided by his Holy Spirit, then it is almost like reading a blank sheet of paper without the spiritual insight. Through prayer, we can understand his spiritual reality by asking him for understanding. When we read his word, it will increase our understanding of God because God’s Holy Spirit will guide us.

We don’t have to always ask for something while we are praying. Sometimes we should reflect on God’s goodness. We can give him the glory and just reflect on our life with praise and thanksgiving. We can talk and share our emotions with our Heavenly Father. Through our daily praying, we can embrace his kindness and be thankful. We can just thank our Heavenly Father out of the blue because he just brought us through.

Sharing emotions of praise
Glorious Father
Thank you for the gift
The gift of life
Thank you for creating me
With your limitless thoughts of creation
I thank you because you thought of me
Every day you breathe the breath of life in my lungs
Your Holy Spirit helps me to overcome
Your divine love is the same everyday
I thank you Heavenly Father
Sometimes sin block my way
But Hallelujah and praise to you Father
Separated from you
I don’t have to stay
Once I repent and get back focused on you
Your throne is open to me when I pray
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Thank you Holiest Heavenly Father this day
